Practical Green Thinking

I'm delighted to share with you that a personal and professional goal of mine is becoming a reality: The Courtney Group is expanding its private equity and investment banking activities to focus on renewable energy, alternative waste management and environmental services.

Why? I'm convinced that two of the biggest challenges facing our communities, our country and the world also represent some of our most promising business opportunities:
  • (1) fossil fuels pollute and won't be around forever, and
  • (2) we can do a much better job of handling our waste streams.
Germany, Japan and some Scandinavian countries have stopped using landfills, and I have been exploring better ways to deal with America's trash. So, over the last few years, I've been building a team with business expertise in "Practical Green Thinking" – that's our term for using new and existing technologies to capture energy and create useful products from waste streams.

Among the projects we're looking for are opportunities in which we can roll out a proven technology where we finance, build and operate 10-50 plants. Private equity investments will be made through a newly formed company with an exceptional business team, Nautilus Renewables LLC.
